Our Frugal Lifestyle

My photo
Passionate about eco-frugality. I used to party hard, clubbing my way from pay-packet to pay-packet. Never getting ahead, just getting by. Then came our much wanted baby with no savings in the bank - only an old car. Changes were made to our lifestyle and we didn't turn back. In the past 6yrs we purchased a flat, found employment, lived below our means, built an emergency fund, purchased a reliable car and saw the financial benefits of our frugal lifestyle. Our only debt is our mortgage. Our aim is to manage our cash flow wisely, pay off our home quickly and eventually work for pleasure, not necessity. Join us on our journey, share insights, tips and tricks to help us and others to get ahead while having a good time.

Decluttering With Ebay

I listed 7 items on Ebay this week in the aim to declutter a few items and make some extra cash for our Borneo travel fund which we originally wanted to do in January 2012. However we will wait 1 more year for Dolly to be a little bigger and a little stronger to be able to do a small trek to see Orangutans.

So far my vintage 1970s scrabble pieces have happily reached $16.50 and there is 2 days left. Cross my fingers they reach $20. I had intended to use them in crafting projects but I wasn't moving on it. So out they go as I will come across these again at op shops when I want them again.  This will allow me to free up valuable breathing space in our cluttered home.

I also listed 6 books, one is out of print. I made an extra effort to make my photo's look attractive. Blogland has shown me the beautiful pictures and extra effort people make. I have been inspired to try and do the same for my decluttering Ebay listings.

Vogue Art Book from 1986 Now Out Of Print

With Christmas coming up it's a good time to list collectables and special vintage pieces. Are you listing anything for sale this week to increase your money for a special event or simply to get clutter out?

  2. Haven't got time yet but Mr Sft has done brilliantly selling Dungeons and Dragons books (some out of print) worldwide on ebay. He's made £120 so far which he plans to use for Christmas presents.

Hope you got my last message and email address.

    Hugs Sft x
