Our Frugal Lifestyle

My photo
Passionate about eco-frugality. I used to party hard, clubbing my way from pay-packet to pay-packet. Never getting ahead, just getting by. Then came our much wanted baby with no savings in the bank - only an old car. Changes were made to our lifestyle and we didn't turn back. In the past 6yrs we purchased a flat, found employment, lived below our means, built an emergency fund, purchased a reliable car and saw the financial benefits of our frugal lifestyle. Our only debt is our mortgage. Our aim is to manage our cash flow wisely, pay off our home quickly and eventually work for pleasure, not necessity. Join us on our journey, share insights, tips and tricks to help us and others to get ahead while having a good time.

The Big Spend

Okay truth time - I've been breaking lots of my rules this week. Driving to work and paying for parking, purchased 2 new handbags, bought some make up and will spend up all weekend on food and wine.

But I'm fine with my mega splurge because I am on the Committee of the School Reunion and Attending my 25 Year School Reunion!!! Class of 87!! I am soooo sooo sooo excited to see everyone that I am giddy and sick with butterflies. People are coming from all over the world and Australia for this so it's mega important to me. Sixty plus of my old friends connecting via Facebook and emails to come to a weekend of partying and BBQing.

I'm meeting early arrivals tomorrow night at the Mindil Beach Night Markets. Then Friday night drinks with more old friends. Saturday morning I have organised a school tour. Saturday night we are partying like in 1987! Then Sunday we have a recovery BBQ for us school mates and our families. Then I have taken Monday and Tuesday off work to recover and hang with friends who are staying in town a couple of extra days.

So forgive me for being quiet here and unfrugal as I get ready for the party of the decade. I will go back to my frugalista ways next week.

Happy Me,

Stephanie at Frugal Down Under.
