Our Frugal Lifestyle

My photo
Passionate about eco-frugality. I used to party hard, clubbing my way from pay-packet to pay-packet. Never getting ahead, just getting by. Then came our much wanted baby with no savings in the bank - only an old car. Changes were made to our lifestyle and we didn't turn back. In the past 6yrs we purchased a flat, found employment, lived below our means, built an emergency fund, purchased a reliable car and saw the financial benefits of our frugal lifestyle. Our only debt is our mortgage. Our aim is to manage our cash flow wisely, pay off our home quickly and eventually work for pleasure, not necessity. Join us on our journey, share insights, tips and tricks to help us and others to get ahead while having a good time.

Thanks Miss Piggy Bank

Miss Piggy Bank awarded me a Liebster Blog Award :-) She's a Blogger I follow as we have similar aspirations and actions. I search out those that can inspire me and push me along my path.

The Award is for Bloggers with less then 300 Followers that the nominator enjoys - And lucky me.. Miss Piggy Bank selected little ole me, a small Blogger rambling about her money adventures & misadventures and trying to be more eco along the way.

What a very cool surprise!!! Thank you Miss Piggy Bank!

Stats wise; Frugal Down Under receives roughly 80 page views per day, from countries as diverse as the US, England, Israel, China, India, Malaysia, Switzerland, Indonesia, France, Russia, New Zealand and my home country Australia. (These are just a few of the countries - so please don't be offended if I missed your lovely country).

It's interesting to know wherever we are from, many of us have some of the same goals; be it save some of our money for the future, try and live a little more sustainably and have as much fun with our families as possible without blowing the budget. We come from different backgrounds and have different economic situations and yet support each other with cheers, encouragement, tips and tough love. Maybe politicians could learn something from the Blogger community?

In turn I award the Liebster Blog Award to Money In the Garage, because he teaches me you can practically sell anything on Ebay and he does it with such great story telling humour that he gets a chuckle out of me every time.

  1. Blogs sure do make the world feel a much smaller and friendlier place.I love the little glimpses into people's daily lives around the world.
